Tarra is a Registered Psychotherapist licensed to practice psychotherapy by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton University. Tarra has completed extensive training in Psychodynamic, Emotion-Focused and Experiential therapies with a focus on trauma, anxiety and relationship issues. Tarra also holds a professional certificate in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and has been practicing as an associate clinician with the Borderline Personality Disorder clinic since 2022.
As a compassionate professional experienced in addressing trauma, anxiety, mood and relationship issues, Tarra specializes in helping individuals manage distress, anxiety, mood and emotional disturbances associated with relational issues and complex mental health conditions. Her main focus is supporting clients in exploring issues and overcoming challenges in the safety of a warm, accepting environment. Through a strength-based approach, she strives to empower individuals in developing strengths, building and implementing effective strategies unique to their specific needs and circumstances, toward lasting change, meaningful experiences, and fulfilling relationships.
Tarra applies an integrative approach to treatment incorporating Schema-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural techniques and Experiential methods. Her professional expertise and personal experience provide her in-depth knowledge of the issues and challenges facing those affected by personality and mood disorders, caregivers, and those in medical and helping professions.
