DBT therapy in Ottawa and virtually across Ontario
Work one-on-one with a therapist to explore your individual challenges, patterns, emotions, and relationships. DBT skills and strategies can be incorporated into therapy and tailored to the situations you’re navigating in your everyday life.
Our structured 12-week DBT Skills Group teaches practical tools from the four core areas of DBT: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Each week focuses on learning and practicing skills that you can begin applying to real-life situations outside of the group.
For individuals who have completed our DBT Skills Group, our monthly Peer Support Group provides an opportunity to continue practicing DBT skills while connecting with others who understand similar challenges.
The group offers a supportive space to discuss real-life situations, reinforce skills, and continue building on what you’ve learned.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based form of therapy that helps people better understand and manage intense emotions, navigate difficult situations, and build healthier relationships.
DBT combines two important ideas: acceptance and change. It teaches us to acknowledge our emotions and experiences as they are, while also developing practical skills to respond to them in ways that better support our goals and well-being.
Originally developed to support individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), DBT is now used with people experiencing a range of challenges related to emotional regulation, impulsivity, distress, and relationships.
Rather than focusing only on talking about what is happening, DBT provides concrete skills that can be practiced and used in everyday life, especially during the moments when emotions feel the hardest to manage.
DBT focuses on four core areas that help you better understand your emotions, cope with difficult moments, and navigate relationships more effectively.
